When the first people sinned in the Garden of Eden, they were afraid and tried to hide from God. But God in His love sought them out and spoke to them. God showed them the consequences of their sin, but He also gave them a message of hope. Death, suffering and pain would not be the end of their lives. They would not have to live without hope! God promised them that someday a person would come to earth and win the victory over sin and death!
Although they did not understand everything, the person God was promising to send was Jesus Christ. Jesus was the One who would bring peace and forgiveness. Jesus would restore to lost humanity fellowship with God!

1.Who is Jesus Christ?
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”

God sent Jesus into the world so that we could have eternal life in Him.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:163.How did Jesus come into our world?
Jesus was born as a human baby to an Israelite virgin named Mary.
Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of David’s house. No. Jesus was born in a small village, in very humble circumstances.
While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.

6.Why was He given the name Jesus?
Because the name Jesus means Savior. Jesus came to save His people from their sins.
She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:217.What did Jesus do while He was on earth?
Jesus lived in Palestine, among the Israelites, teaching and preaching, healing the sick, casting out demons, forgiving sins and helping the needy.
Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
Matthew 9:35Demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of God!” Rebuking them, he didn’t allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.

9.Did those who saw the miracles of Jesus and heard His message believe in Him?
No. The Jewish leaders were envious of Him and rejected Him. They handed Jesus over to the Roman governor so that he would sentence Him to death.
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. They bound him, led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.

The Roman soldiers mocked Jesus, tortured Him and then killed Him on a cross outside Jerusalem.
The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort. They clothed him with purple; and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him. They began to salute him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” They struck his head with a reed and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him. When they had mocked him, they took the purple cloak off him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.

11.Did Jesus commit any crime to deserve death on the cross?
No. Jesus lived an absolutely perfect life.
who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.” When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

A rich and devout man named Joseph of Arimathea buried the body of Jesus, according to the custom of that time.
Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock. Then he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed.

14.What did Jesus do after He came out of the tomb?
For forty days He was on earth to prove to His followers that He was alive.
To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking about God’s Kingdom.
Acts 1:315.What happened after the forty days?
Jesus returned to heaven, from where He now rules over all things in heaven and on earth.
While he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up into heaven.
Luke 24:51which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

No. Someday He will return to earth and take us to where He is.
