How can I be saved?
Answers to your questions about your personal salvation
After reading all the questions and answers in this book, new questions may have come to your mind. This is a good sign. You have moved from the self-sufficiency of one who knows everything to the humility of sincerely seeking the wisdom of God. Perhaps there has arisen in your heart the assurance of one who understands the love of God and accepts His forgiveness and life in Christ Jesus.
If this has happened, do not put it off. The Bible says that today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Find a quiet corner and talk with God. Pray the following prayer, or a similar one, in your own words:
Remember: when you give your life to Jesus Christ, you become part of Christ’s church on earth. And what is Christ’s church? It is not a building or a cathedral: it is the gathering and the life of those who, like you, confess Jesus Christ as their only Savior and Lord.
Do not walk alone. Look for an evangelical church that teaches the Bible and follows Jesus alone. There you will develop your faith, grow in the knowledge of Christ and live the Christian life with joy (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Ask to be baptized as well: it is what Jesus taught those who believe in Him (Mark 16:16).
